Pilkington

Pilkington House sits at the heart of Moreton Hall and is connected to Stables House. Named after a former Moreton governor, Mr David Pilkington, it houses pupils in Remove to Lower Five, as well as our Prep girls boarders. The House is warm and friendly, and has one of the most coveted common rooms in the school: the Marchant Gallery. In the evenings, girls will often be found throwing lacrosse balls back and forth in the front garden or simply enjoying a cup of tea and a chat in the common room.

The Housemistress: Miss Jemima Carey

Miss Carey, the Housemistress of Pilkington House, brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for boarding school life. Having been a boarder herself in South Africa, she understands the value of a supportive and nurturing environment for students. Her journey at Moreton Hall, from a Gappy to an Assistant Housemistress, showcases her dedication to the school community. With a degree in Humanities from Stellenbosch University, Miss Carey returned to Moreton in 2022, enriching the lives of students under her care. Miss Carey also plays a vital role in teaching PSHE across the school. Her dedication to fostering well-rounded students extends beyond the Housemistress role, ensuring that students receive valuable life skills and guidance across all ages. Outside of school, she enjoys leisurely walks with her pug Minnie and discovering new local spots, all while savouring a cup of coffee and engaging in meaningful conversations.
