Beyond Moreton

“A Moretonian is confident and joyful. Learning at Moreton is a pleasure and opens up so many opportunities for life.”

– Old Moretonian Parent
Next Steps - Careers Guidance

Careers advice starts in the Lower School, integrated into the PSHE programme, exploring career options, challenging stereotypes, jobs of the future, and essential skills required for various roles. Moreton Hall’s dedicated careers advisors provide impartial advice and guidance to help pupils make informed choices for their future.

During their time at Moreton Hall pupils visit a Russell Group University, attend seminars, practice interviews, and are encouraged to arrange summer work experience. Pupils receive guidance on their UCAS applications, as well as support for Art colleges, Conservatoires, and School Leaver Programmes.

Moreton Means Business: Inspiring Entrepreneurs

Moreton Hall is renowned for nurturing young entrepreneurs through a dynamic program that blends extra-curricular activities with academic studies, offering opportunities to develop their business skills and leadership qualities. Our programme is unique, dynamic and constantly evolving to extend enterprise beyond the curriculum.

Under the umbrella of Moreton Means Business, there are many initiatives designed to prepare pupils for their next steps and to develop vital character traits such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, resilience and integrity.

Moreton Enterprises

At the centre of Moreton’s business initiative is Moreton Entreprises (ME); a unique, student-led, in-house business. Managed entirely by our Lower Sixth, ME moves the students from the theoretical study of business to hands-on, real-world work experience.

Moreton Means Business Conference

Held every International Women’s Day, the MMB Conference invites business leaders to share advice on the realities of the business world through lectures and workshops.

Business Lunch

Moreton’s annual Business Lunch is a must-attend event that attracts business guests from across the region. Previous speakers include: Sir William Hague, Baron Hague of Richmond, Sir Malcolm Walker, CBE, Founder and Executive Chair of Iceland Foods, and Xavier Rolet, former CEO of the London Stock Exchange.

Careers and Universities Fair

Moreton Hall hosts one of the region’s largest Careers and Universities Fairs attracting over 60 exhibitors, including leading Russell Group universities and industry specialists. The Fair welcomes over 400 pupils from across the region to explore how to start their career journey.

Moreton Hall’s alumni play a key part in this annual event. This year, we welcomed Cerys Chamberlain, an Economist at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office; Simran Shah, a solicitor at the law firm Hatchers; and Buffy Boroughs, a business manager at Shropshire Trading.

Current university students, Dunni Okoya and Helen Yang, also returned to share their experiences of student life at Lancaster University and University College London.

In addition to exhibitor stands, seminars take place throughout the event and provide information and guidance on a range of subjects from becoming an entrepreneur to studying at Oxbridge.

Leavers’ Destinations

The majority of Moreton students choose to go on to University, many of them securing places at Russell group universities.

Popular destinations include:

"Moreton Enterprises has given me a great opportunity to strengthen my business skills and show universities and future employers my capabilities."

– Managing Director, Moreton Enterprises
