Stables is one of the two boarding houses for pupils in Remove to Lower Five, and it is also home to our Prep boy boarders. When pupils step into Stables House, we would like them to feel as though they are stepping into their second home, with Miss Nicoll and the Stables House team there to wish everyone a good morning or a good evening. Stables House has a unique identity and our pupils each bring something to add. The main common room is the hub of the house and is equipped with a large seating area, multiple games, puzzles, & books, a dining table and kitchen; it is often filled with day pupils and boarders alike. It is where we host a number of activities, have cups of tea on a wintery day, movie nights, registration and house discussions, among many others. Stables pupils also benefit from a number of other small areas where pupils can gather together to catch up and the Lower Five pupils benefit from a Link common room which is also shared with Pilkington House. Downstairs we also have our own Study Room where the pupils can keep their school books, prep, and stationery in their cubby/locker.
We organise various events, outings, and bonding activities to strengthen the sense of community within the boarding house. These experiences not only create lasting memories but also lifelong friendships. Everyone who has called it home leaves their mark on the House and helps to shape the ever-evolving intangible sense of House spirit that helps make it a special place to live, and helps give our pupils the best possible start to their journey at Moreton Hall.
