Moreton Hall is celebrating a superb set of performances and accolades at this year’s Oswestry Youth Music Festival, with pupils of all ages impressing judges and audiences alike with their musical talent, dedication and confidence on stage.
Representing the school across a wide range of classes, Moretonians performed with real poise and musicality throughout the festival. Judges praised not only the standard of performance, but also the commitment and stage presence shown by pupils across the age range.
Among the many highlights was Seb, aged just seven, who was the youngest competitor in the entire festival and performed with remarkable confidence. At the other end of the age range, Nia delivered an exceptional performance to secure the 21 and Under Overall Oswestry Town Council Solo Trophy, one of the festival’s most prestigious awards, contested by all instrumental and vocal class winners in that category.
Nia was also awarded the Festival Achievement Cup, recognising her outstanding commitment to the festival over nine consecutive years of competition across multiple classes and instruments. It is a fitting tribute to her sustained dedication and passion for music.
These achievements reflect not only the talent and hard work of the pupils themselves, but also the expert support of Moreton Hall’s Visiting Music Teachers, whose guidance and encouragement help pupils flourish both technically and personally. Their commitment plays a vital role in preparing each performer for opportunities such as these.
Moreton Hall is immensely proud of every pupil who took part. Their success at the Oswestry Youth Music Festival is a wonderful celebration of hard work, perseverance and a love of music.
