Moreton Hall is opening its doors and inviting prospective families to join them for a series of events that will showcase what makes Moreton such a remarkable place.
On September 28, a Whole School Open Day will be taking place, with prospective families from Reception through to Sixth Form, invited to discover the wealth of opportunities that await pupils at Moreton Hall.
Additionally, as part of their Whole School Open Day, Moreton Hall Prep is also inviting those from Reception to Year 6 to enjoy an afternoon exploring Moreton’s grounds as part of their ‘100 Acre Trail’. Children and their parents are invited to follow the clues around Moreton’s 100 Acres to discover the hidden gems and win a prize.
There will also be the opportunity to attend Moreton’s Sixth Form Information Evening, taking place on the 10 October. The evening offers pupils the opportunity to meet with specialists in 22 A Level subjects, as well as attend seminars on Oxbridge entrance, creative arts education routes and medical, dental and veterinary sciences university entry.
Awarded the prestigious Tes Boarding School of the Year 2021 award, Moreton provides an education that is both broad and deep, building confidence and preparing girls for life after school. A day and boarding school that combines academic rigour with outstanding pastoral care, Moreton Hall is said to be an “exemplar of all that a great boarding school can be.”
Moreton has been built on the optimistic values of embrace, achieve and enjoy, and pupils at Moreton recognise the importance of these values and embody them wholeheartedly and throughout their academic career. Moreton delivers an ambitious and innovative academic curriculum, coupled with outstanding pastoral care.
Moreton provides a warm, caring family environment where every pupil’s individual needs are addressed, which enables each child to flourish.
At Moreton, all disciplines are equally valued and our pupils progress into a diverse range of fields, from national and international sports teams to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Oxbridge. When pupils leave Moreton Hall, they are not only prepared for life outside the gates but equipped to work in a diverse range of fields with the skills they need to succeed.
91% of Moreton Hall students received their first choice of University, most of which are the more competitive Russell Group institutions. This year’s GCSE results saw a 99% pass rate and, in a year where, national figures show a steep decline in the uptake of Drama across the UK, Moreton Hall’s Drama department continues to flourish, increasing its intake of students and achieving outstanding success. In GCSE Drama, every pupil achieved the highest possible grade of a 9 whilst at A Level, students achieved a combination of A*s and As across the board.
At Moreton Hall, there is a vibrant Enrichment Programme in place that aims to provide pupils with a rich and varied programme of societies, activities, lectures and visits. The programme allows pupils to be challenged and stretched in a way that is different from the current examination system and the teaching they experience in the classroom. For example, Moreton’s three societies – Jenner, Bronwen and Lady Barbirolli – operate termly, and pupils are invited to attend lectures delivered by professional speakers or experts in their field.
Whilst academic success is highly valued, Sports is also held in high regard at Moreton. More recently, three Moreton Hall girls were selected to represent Wales in the 2024 World Lacrosse U20 Women’s Championship in Hong Kong. In addition to this, Moreton Hall were crowned National Schools Lacrosse Champions after competing in four days of play at the National Schools Lacrosse Championships.
