Divisions

Divisions are where we come together and show what we are made of. This is why we are successful. This is how we are a community. This is Moreton.

Divisions

Divisions are where our school community comes together, where students discover their strengths, build lasting friendships, and create memories that define their time at Moreton. They are at the heart of what makes us successful, united, and uniquely Moreton.

What Are Divisions?

At Moreton, Divisions are our own version of a competitive House system. Students from different year groups come together in mixed-age teams to take part in a wide range of exciting inter-school competitions and events. While competition is an important element, Divisions are about much more than winning, they are about participation, teamwork, and belonging.

Why Do We Have Divisions?

To truly understand the impact of Divisions, you need to see them in action. This is where friendships are formed, confidence grows, and the spirit of Moreton shines brightest. Every student is a valued member of a Division, and every student plays a part in supporting and celebrating their team.

Starting at a new school can be daunting, and making connections is an important part of settling in. Divisions help students feel included from day one, creating opportunities to meet and work alongside pupils from different year groups. They quickly become part of a wider school family.

Divisions also provide a chance for every student to shine. A pupil who may not represent the school in sport or take centre stage academically can find themselves cheered on and encouraged by their peers. Through these experiences, confidence develops, talents emerge, and students discover strengths they may never have realised they had.
Across every Divisional event, we see the determination, resilience, and commitment that characterise a Moreton student. Younger pupils are inspired by older role models, while our Sixth Form students demonstrate leadership through encouragement, guidance, and support. Year groups work together as one team, celebrating each other’s successes and learning valuable lessons about collaboration, respect, and community.

Divisions are more than competitions—they are an essential part of life at Moreton, bringing students together and fostering the sense of belonging that makes our school such a special place.
