Moreton Hall Education Limited is the proprietor of Moreton Hall School.

Its Board comprises highly experienced UK leaders from across business, law, finance, entrepreneurship, investment and education. Board members have led international companies, advised global organisations, built successful businesses, managed significant investment portfolios, and served on a wide range of boards and charitable organisations.

The Board is united not only by outstanding professional expertise, but also by a shared belief in the importance of preserving and strengthening the unique educational experience that Moreton Hall provides. As parents, former parents and long-standing supporters of the school, members understand first-hand the transformative impact Moreton Hall has on the lives of its pupils.

The Board

Matt Brooksbank

is an entrepreneur and business leader with extensive experience in strategic leadership, business growth and organisational development. He began his career with the UK’s largest supplier to the education sector, progressing to lead its Clinical and Scientific Equipment Division before founding and building his own successful company over more than two decades.
Throughout his career, Matt has advised organisations across education, healthcare, defence and the public sector, developing expertise in procurement, infrastructure planning and complex programme delivery. Holding both undergraduate and postgraduate science degrees, he is a strong advocate for education, innovation and lifelong learning.
As a parent and passionate supporter of Moreton Hall, Matt played a central role in bringing together the team behind Moreton Hall 2100 and remains committed to supporting the school’s continued development. He has a particular focus on innovation and operational leadership, helping to ensure Moreton Hall continues to evolve and thrive while nurturing future generations of inspirational young women.

Mike Ellison

is an investor and business leader with more than two decades of experience helping organisations grow, innovate and achieve sustained growth and success. As Director of Ellison Marketing, he has advised hundreds of businesses, charities and educational organisations across the UK on strategy, communications, business development and organisational growth.

He played a significant role in the transformation of Wrexham AFC’s digital and e-commerce operations during a period of exceptional growth, helping to drive commercial performance and support record-breaking merchandise launches. Alongside his work with Ellison, Mike has invested in and supported the growth of businesses across North West England and Wales.

His expertise spans strategic planning, governance, stakeholder engagement and organisational development. A father of two daughters at Moreton Hall, he is passionate about the transformative power of education and committed to supporting the school’s continued success, helping create opportunities for young women to develop the confidence, character and skills to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Gary Green

is an experienced educational leader with a strong track record of helping schools improve, grow and deliver exceptional outcomes for young people. As Director of Improvement and Development at Bohunt Education Trust, he works with school and trust leaders to strengthen educational standards, pastoral provision, safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and literacy across a family of successful schools.

Gary has held senior leadership positions in a range of school settings and has twice served as Acting Co-Headteacher, supporting schools through periods of transition and development. His work is guided by a belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and by a commitment to high expectations, strong relationships and educational excellence.

Alongside his trust-wide responsibilities, Gary supports wider school improvement initiatives and leadership development programmes. He brings valuable expertise in educational leadership, school improvement and organisational development, helping to ensure that Moreton Hall continues to provide an outstanding educational experience for current and future generations of pupils.

Matthew Harrison

is an entrepreneur, investor and technology leader with extensive experience across financial services and software development. Following early service as an Army officer, he built a successful career in investment banking technology, working with some of the world’s leading financial institutions before founding a number of software businesses specialising in innovative trading systems deployed globally.

Today, Matthew works as an angel investor, supporting early-stage ventures with strategic guidance, leadership and decades of commercial experience. His career has been defined by a passion for innovation, entrepreneurship and helping businesses achieve sustainable growth.

As a parent and enthusiastic supporter of Moreton Hall, Matthew is committed to supporting the school’s leadership team and contributing to its continued success as it enters an exciting new chapter.

Stacey Lea

is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant with extensive experience gained over a 20-year career in public practice, advising businesses across a wide range of sectors. Having recently established her own advisory firm, she brings expertise in financial leadership, business planning, forecasting and digital transformation.

Alongside her work in practice, Stacey is deeply committed to education and skills development. She serves as Governor for Finance at a Further Education and Adult Training organisation, helping to oversee financial strategy and support long-term organisational resilience.

Stacey combines strong commercial expertise with a passion for educational excellence and opportunity. As part of the Moreton Hall 2100 consortium, she contributes valuable expertise in financial governance, oversight and sustainable growth, supporting the school’s long-term ambitions.

John Melia

is an international corporate lawyer and business adviser with extensive experience across Asia, the United Kingdom and global financial markets. During his legal career he held senior leadership positions with Appleby, one of the world’s leading international law firms, including serving as Head of Corporate in Hong Kong.

He has advised businesses, investors and financial institutions on complex corporate transactions, governance matters and international growth strategies. Alongside his legal expertise, John has developed significant commercial and leadership experience through working with organisations across multiple sectors and jurisdictions.

As a parent and passionate advocate for Moreton Hall, he has played a central role in bringing together the expertise, leadership and commitment required to secure the school’s future.

Zoe Harney

is a fierce advocate of Moreton Hall, born and raised locally and a parent with two daughters in the school.  Following a marketing degree and working in recruitment, Zoe set up her own Equestrian business before joining her husband Philip at Copperdell Ltd where they successfully operated and expanded garages and MOT stations in the North West. Zoe and Philip continue to invest locally and now also run their own hospitality business. Zoe is an active parent representative at Moreton and is passionate about the successful future of the school.
