I would like to begin by thanking former Principal, Jonathan Forster, and Moreton Hall School for the opportunity to form a collaborative partnership with one of the very best schools in the country. Whilst we are different schools, we have the same core values and belief that every child deserves to achieve the very best through nurture, support, challenge and opportunity.
The opportunity for our students to see an exceptional independent school environment first hand is truly inspirational and raises the aspirations of all of our students who study there. Each year, our collaboration gets stronger and more varied and is now moving into all areas of the curriculum.
We were fortunate to have Mr Forster on our Board of Governors, bringing his years of experience, knowledge and passion for education to the management of this school during a period of rapid growth in student numbers and results.
Each year our collaboration gets stronger and more varied. Top set year 10 students have now had the experience of being taught Science at Moreton Hall for many years. They have studied in Moreton Hall’s amazing new Centenary Science building, in small groups, and been taught by some of the best Science teachers in the country in labs that are university standard. This experience has not only developed their Science skills and knowledge but made them feel special, independent and valued, giving them confidence to believe in their abilities and to strive for the very best in everything they do.
Our year 11 mathematicians have had the opportunity to attend for bespoke sessions.
We have a unique scholarship agreement that enables several of our brightest girls to transfer in year 11 for their post 16 studies. This has been a life-changing experience for those girls and all of them have gone on to achieve superb A Level grades and secure bright futures.
The sharing of educational experience and best practice has been reinforced with the appointment of Moreton Sixth Form Registrar, Caroline Lang, onto the board of governors at St Martins and Carol Jones, Assistant Head for Teaching and Learning at St Martins, joining the board at Moreton.
The participation grows at a rapid rate year on year; from next year this will involve most areas of the curriculum, from technology, the arts and languages.
This new collaboration will strengthen our work further and all our students including boys, and provide the opportunity to develop leadership, self-reliance, resourcefulness, endurance and perseverance.
