Moreton Hall’s First Lacrosse team continues to go from strength-to-strength following their success at the Lacrosse Challenge Cup, which features the country’s best young sporting talent, held at Caterham School.
Fondly referred to as the ‘Queens of the North’, Shropshire’s small but mighty Moreton Hall team were amongst the country’s top eight under-18 teams who were invited to play in this prestigious competition which saw them making history in reaching the final.
Following their success in the National Schools Lacrosse Championships earlier this year, Moreton Hall was the only school in the north to be competing in the straight knockout tournament.
Carina Walsh, Head of Lacrosse, said: “The Moreton Hall team cruised all the way to the final, beating Caterham, Berkhamsted and Putney along the way.
“They narrowly lost out to Guildford School in a nail biting final, making them runners up. We are incredibly proud of this team who continue to make history, going where no Northern team has gone before!”
This recent success helps cement Moreton Hall’s outstanding reputation in Lacrosse. Now mid-way through the season, this success places Moreton Hall First Lacrosse team in a strong position as they prepare for the National Schools Lacrosse next year.
