How wonderful it was on a lovely March evening for Moreton Hall’s Choir to join other choirs and musicians from around Shropshire to raise money and awareness for the charity ‘Crane Quality Counselling’.
Shrewsbury Abbey was the perfect backdrop for this well supported event, and we were joined by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire Mrs Anna Turner, the Mayor of Shrewsbury and other distinguished guests.
The choir took their place well against the amazing backdrop of the Abbey’s nave. The choir sang Water of Tyne, The Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera and a highly energetic rendition of This Old Man. A smaller gaggle of senior girls also performed a stunning arrangement of Susan La Barr’s Where the Light Begins. The acoustics were superb, and the choir held their own and filled the Abbey with their angelic voices, such a wonderful performance.
A wonderful evening was had by all, and a significant amount raised for the charity, enough to fund fifty children’s counselling appointments.
Huge congratulations to everyone involved.
