Discover More at Moreton

At Moreton Hall we set our standards high and expect pupils to stretch themselves to their best ability. Here, pupils challenge themselves, embrace new experiences and are curious about the world. The pupils’ learning is scaffolded by an exceptional teaching and pastoral staff, which lie at the heart of the school’s success.

Our inspiring staff encourage and support the pupils beyond what they thought possible. Small class sizes and a wide range of activities maximise the opportunities for learning. This, combined with a curriculum that can be tailored to meet the requirements of each individual pupil, creates a bespoke educational experience.

From our champion Lacrosse teams and ‘West End quality’ Drama productions to Music, Art and Spoken English (a hallmark of a Moreton Hall education), Moretonians have many options to explore their interests and excel.

The students’ education journey is guided by our award-winning Next Steps Careers department. Our pupils achieve excellent exam results and move on to the top universities in the world across a broad range of disciplines.

This ambitious agenda is balanced by a warm, nurturing family environment in which each student is seen, understood and valued. Above all, Moreton Hall is a joyous community. An infectious positivity and genuine atmosphere of fun and creativity pervade the school.

Please read our Prospectus, arrange a bespoke visit or join us for an Open Day to meet the Principal, staff and pupils and walk our beautiful grounds so you can better understand what we like to call the Moreton Magic.

Join Moreton Hall - The Admissions Journey

Moreton Hall is widely recognised as one of the leading independent boarding and day schools in the UK. Although not highly academically selective, securing a place is increasingly competitive. Normal entry points to the senior school are at 11+ and 13+, but pupils do join us at other times.

We understand admissions can be daunting for those new to the process and that not everyone can apply within the usual parameters, so please do not hesitate to contact us for advice and further information via admissions@moretonhall.com.

The Admissions Journey
1

Request or download our prospectus.

2

Attend our Open Day or arrange an individual visit by contacting our Admissions Officer, Liz Farrow on 01691-773671 or at admissions@moretonhall.com, usually 1 to 2 years prior to entry.

3

We recommend all candidates take part in a taster day (and night, if they wish) with us prior to registering to experience what it’s like to be a Moretonian. Our ‘Getting to Know You’ day in October is a perfect introduction to Moreton Hall life and the chance to meet new friends.

4

Register your child to sit our entrance test, and apply for scholarships and bursaries by completing and returning our Registration Form together with the registration fee of £100 by the beginning of November. To find out more about scholarships and bursaries at Moreton Hall, have a look at our comprehensive Entry Guide.

5

Your child’s last school report and references are requested from their current school.

6

All applicants are invited to attend our assessment day in the November prior to entry, during which they will sit entrance papers in Maths and English, followed by an online assessment and interview with the Principal. As part of the 13+ assessment, candidates will sit a further paper in a subject of their choice. Assessments for specialist scholarships of art, drama, music and sport will also be taken at this time. Candidates who intend to sit Common Entrance examinations at their present school should inform us of their intention in writing. Arrangements will then be made for them to sit the online assessment test at another date.

7

Following the assessments, a letter will be sent to candidates with details of their performance and an offer of a place or a scholarship is made at this time.

8

Confirm your acceptance of your child’s place by completing our acceptance form and paying the refundable deposit. A full induction programme will be provided in advance of your child’s start date. Congratulations!

9

Attend the summer Welcome Day for new parents and pupils in the June prior to entry, in order to meet staff, make new friends and start to settle in.

"An infectious positivity and energy is threaded through the classrooms, across the sports pitches and onto the stage."
