Boarding, Pastoral and Wellbeing
BUILDING RESILIENCE AND DEVELOPING EACH INDIVIDUAL
SHORT TERM (1-3 YEARS)
x Develop the evening and weekend activities and events programme
to engage all our pupils and staff in the inspiring, original and fun
opportunities available.
x Nurture the wellbeing of the whole school community with re-introduction
of a Director of Wellbeing, the provision of places of quiet sanctuary,
mindfulness and staff mental health first aid training.
x Review and update our approach to the management of pupil mobile
devices and ICT equipment.
x Uphold our commitment to equality by working hard to ensure our
curriculum, pupil body and staff reflect the diversity of Britain today and
that spaces for debate and discussion are provided and encouraged.
MEDIUM TERM (3-5 YEARS)
x Equip our pupils with the ethical and moral values and digital literacy
they need to succeed and maintain good mental health in a world of fake
news and digitally manipulated content.
x Develop the role of the tutor through our pastoral and wellbeing provision
and provide time for daily tutor contact.
x Clearly articulate the benefits of boarding right through the school, from
Moreton First upwards.
LONG TERM (5+ YEARS)
x Evaluate a range of pastoral tracking systems to best support pupil
progress and wellbeing.
x Further develop the Rylands Diploma to seek business accreditation and
investigate introducing an equivalent for KS3 and KS4.
x Consult with parents, staff and pupils to develop a series of inspiring
pastoral talks focussed on supporting the health and wellbeing of all
members of our community.
