A Match For The Ages

            Moreton’s 1st Team Outlasts

            Spirited Season Finale

The OM versus 1st Team lacrosse match has always been more than just
a game—it’s a rite of passage. For Moreton’s Upper Sixth, it marks the final
showdown in school colours, and this year’s clash brought all the emotion and
energy you’d expect... and then some.

On paper, the Old Moretonians had the edge. Up 14–10 at the final whistle, Moreton’s 1st

tall between the pipes, racking up clutch saves in
a performance that would’ve made any England
netminder proud. (A necessity, as Moreton’s
regular keepers were away on duty in Austria with
            England Lacrosse.)

From the first whistle, it was clear this wasn’t
going to be a casual exhibition. Both sides traded
goals in an up-tempo, end-to-end contest. The
ball movement was crisp, the defensive slides
disciplined, and the intensity? Electric. The OMs
applied early pressure, but it was Moreton’s
ability to shift gears in the third quarter—riding
momentum, winning draws, and finishing clean—
            that turned the tide.
