One standout this year is Nia (Lower Sixth).
Since joining in September 2024, Nia has
achieved Grade 8 violin (distinction), won
top classes at Oswestry and Alderley Edge,
performed at Whittington Festival, and studied
at the JRNCM, winning an ensemble prize. She
won our Recital Prize (violin and viola), joined
NYO Wales, plays cornet in Porthywaen Band, is
preparing for Grade 8 viola and Grade 7 piano,
and will compete at the National Eisteddfod and
Gregynog. She plans to apply to Conservatoires
in the next academic year.
Piano – Naomi Kayayan, pedagogue at RNCM
and Edinburgh.
Voice – Claire Wild, soprano and Birmingham
Conservatoire tutor, who also adjudicated our
Recital Prize.
