Looking ahead, the HCT is preparing for further
growth and improvement. Plans are in place to
expand accessible parking, install a new lighting
desk, and introduce a hearing loop to improve
the visitor experience. As it moves into a summer
full of exciting performances and new initiatives,
The Holroyd Community Theatre remains a
shining example of how the arts can unite and
uplift. Or, as Jenkins puts it:
Theatre is about more than
performances; it is about bringing
people together. At the HCT, we are
proud to do just that. ”
The final term was no less dynamic. Tribute band
Fleetwood Shack returned to a warm reception,
Delta Performing Arts Academy rocked the stage
with School of Rock, and BAFTA award-winning
actor Ruth Jones charmed a packed house during
a special ‘in conversation’ evening. The annual
STEM Challenge Day, delivered by our team of
mad scientists, saw schools from across the area
engage with hands-on science and even a live
animal encounter, while cinema lovers enjoyed
a season of acclaimed National Theatre Live
screenings.
Outreach and inclusivity continue to sit at the
core of the theatre’s mission. Weekly Dance for
Parkinson’s sessions, delivered in partnership
with Eleni Cymru, provide therapeutic movement
and social engagement. Buggy Walks remain
a firm favourite among local families, with a
recent underwater-themed event bringing joy to
toddlers and carers alike.
Now in its ninth year, the theatre’s youth
programme, Face2Face Performing Arts Academy,
continues to nurture the next generation of
performers, offering vital opportunities for
creative development and performance.
