Completing an EPQ investigating Rasputin’s demise has been
incredibly valuable in supporting my academic development.
It not only improved my essay writing skills, but also taught
me essential academic practices such as referencing, something
not typically covered in the classroom. Additionally, the EPQ
gave me the independence to carry out my own research on a
topic that genuinely interested me. This experience prepared
me well for both A Level coursework and the demands of
reading History in university study.

My EPQ exploring the psychological trauma and lack of
aftercare in the wake of the atomic bombings has equipped
me with lifelong skills, such as independent research,
referencing and footnoting as well as conducting interviews.
All of which will be tremendously useful for my planned degree

eighteenth century English Literature helped to foster a passion
